Right now it seems we are all on Social Media much more than before all this Covid-19 virus craziness.
We are recommended to do Social Distancing, but I feel we can do Physical Distancing, but keep connecting used Social Media as one of the ways.
Of course, texting, messaging, phone calls and video calling work great as well.
On Social Media, many are frustrated with the social media feed, especially on Facebook.
It may have too much Corona Virus stuff.
Or simply too many negative posts.
Even by people who you generally don’t mind their posting, sometime people start to post too much, and about non-positive information.
This may be hurting your own mentality and positive spirit.
I have seen a few people talk about leaving Facebook, backing away from Social Media.
If that is right for you, then great.
But if Social Media is how you are interacting with people now, connecting socially, while physically distancing, you may not want to drop out of Facebook and other social media channels.
Here are a couple tips that I know work for Facebook as I use them often, and may work on other social media channels.
They help you to have a more positive Facebook Feed for you to read.
First off if somebody is bothering me and it’s starting to get worse, I click the three little dots in the top right corner of the last post I have seen of theirs. Then I click on ‘Snooze for 30 days’. I use this for the ones posting too much negative stuff at the moment. It gives me a reprieve for 30 days, and it signals to Facebook to show less of their posts.
The nice thing is that often when I see them again in 30 days, they are back to posting info I like.
Second is that you can like and comment more on the post that you do like. I do this all the time to anything I really enjoy. That will bring more of those and less of the stuff you don’t like. You are in a sense, training the Facebook Algorithm to send you what you want. By aggressively liking or loving and commenting on good stuff you get more of that info.
And a bonus idea, is simply go and search and add more people or more pages or more groups about what you do love. Begin to interact with them and again you will see more of that good stuff in your Facebook Feed.
Hope this helps you to enjoy Social Connecting on Social Media a bit more. 🙂
